The Summit of the Future, organized by the United Nations (UN), will be held in September 2024. Launched on the occasion of the UN’s 75th anniversary, it will focus on how to ensure that the multilateral system is best able to fulfill its mandate. The aim of the Summit is twofold: to intensify efforts to meet the UN’s existing international commitments, and to take concrete steps to meet new challenges and exploit new opportunities.

The IFCCD has submitted an intervention to the UN in advance of the Summit, specifically drawing attention to the importance of including the perspective of the diversity of cultural expressions in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has also joined a collaborative intervention under the #Culture2030Goal campaign calling for the addition of a goal dedicated to culture to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
