Created on June 7, 2005, in Florianópolis, the CBDC was formed with the participation of the CBC, the UBC (Brazilian Composers Union), Amar/Sombras (Association of Conductors, Arrangers and Regents/Society of Brazilian Musicians), and Libre (Brazilian Publishers League). An Executive Committee of the Brazilian Coalition was elected, made up of filmmaker Geraldo Moraes, composer and conductor Marcus Vinicius, editor Marta Martins and producer Débora Peters. The committee’s first task was to seek the support of other organizations and professionals from the various segments of cultural and artistic production. Today, the new management has Solange Souza Lima Moraes as president; Márcio Moraes as vice-president; Amanda Souza Lima de Queiroz and Elenice Oliveira as administrative directors; Sílvia Maurea Souza Lima Peixinho and Lucas de Lima Moraes as international directors; and Débora Peters and Américo Córdula as members of the advisory board. Formed with the participation of the publishing network Salão dos Livros do Piauí – SALIP; the Association of Trans Audiovisual Professionals (APTA); the Katahirine network – Audiovisual Network of Indigenous Women; the Association for the Promotion of Citizenship and Social Development – ACIS.
